I'm so behind again in my blogging. Too much on my plate, I guess. I have some fun things I need to get on here.... it sure would help if I didn't have to suffer through dial-up!

My sweet boy is turning five in a couple of weeks. FIVE! I simply cannot believe he is already that old. I don't want him getting older and starting kindergarten in the fall. I just can't even think about it because it makes me cry! :)

Isabella had her Sweetheart's Ball and looked just beautiful in her new fancy dress and shoes! Then the kids and I went on a trip to Branson with a friend and had such a fun time. As soon as I get some pictures uploaded, I will blog about it all.

Stay tuned....

New Life

Friday night, our goat, Hilary, had her babies. So cute!! The kids were in awe of how wet and gooey they were! They did not want to leave them to come back in the house! And early the next morning, Isabella ran right down to the barn with Chris to play with them.
BTW, Isabella also lost another tooth Friday night!

Barnyard Meet & Greet

This morning (Sunday), we realized that Hilary was engorged (ouch!). Chris tried milking her, which was slow going, as she wasn't too thrilled about it, since she continually tried kicking and butting him!

He also noticed that one baby looked very lethargic and didn't seem to be getting any milk at all. By this afternoon, we realized that Hilary was totally rejecting that baby. Every time he would attempt to get near her, she would push him away. At the same time, she would nudge the female to nurse. The only problem was, since she was so engorged, not much milk was coming out. So, Chris got down to business and started milking away! She cooperated this time, and man, was she relieved after that!
At least his sister loves him!

We realized that we were going to have to bring the rejected baby (named Sugar by Ian) up to the house and take care of him, otherwise he would not make it through the night. He refused a bottle... just can't seem to figure out how to suck... so, I'm having to use a syringe to get his mom's milk into him every couple of hours.
Isn't he just so sweet?! We've got him in the shop, in a dog crate. Ian didn't want him to be lonely, since he's used to snuggling up with his sister, so, he gave him a stuffed animal. How sweet is that?? (We've also got a blanket around him to keep him nice and warm... even though the shop is heated. :)

We also brought home two calves last Monday. They were only 4 days old. Also very cute! The kids love bottle feeding them. They each decided to name one...
Ian's is Midnight.
That's MUCH easier!
Isabella's is Buddy. She's not exactly dressed for the barn, but she couldn't wait to get down there after school!

FUN TIMES on the farm !!

Mommy Day

Yesterday, Isabella was in dire need of a Mommy Day... because everyone needs a day off once in a while... even kindergartners!
After dropping Ian off at school, Isabella and I headed into Tyler. We went to Uncle Lucky's office to visit with him and pick up a guitar he's loaning me. Then we stopped by the police department to see Chris and do some visiting... I wish I had thought to take a picture there!

We then went to the hospital because Isabella has been dying to walk across the skywalk! Ian got to do it when we were there for his e coli scare, and ever since, Isabella has been asking to do it.
She thought it was cool driving around the helicopter and getting to see it up close right there, in the parking lot. There's a wishing fountain at the front entrance, so, she made a wish and tossed a coin! (And on our way out, she decided she wanted to say a prayer for Moma and toss another coin!)

She was so excited when we got inside! It's very cool walking over all that traffic! We hung out there for a while, then she decided she wanted to ride on the elevator. So, we did that a few times... on a couple of different elevators. See! Fun doesn't have to cost a thing!! :)
After that, we had lunch -- my sweet girl wanted to take me out for my birthday! And we spent the rest of the day just hanging out, having fun together. We even looked for fancy shmancy dresses for her Sweetheart's Ball that's coming up (she gets to take Daddy to that!). It was a much needed day of one on one time. And so very fun!

Last Sunday, while the boys (aka husbands) were off doing Shotgun Bowling.... yes, that's what I said... Lisa and I took the kids to the park, where Isabella had fun "babysitting" Bridget (and poor Henry got attacked by a tree)!

A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I were in Tyler and decided to go to the park where we used to play. After playing on the playground for a while, we decided to go for a walk...

Having some hot chocolate...

I am so blessed!! My kids are just the best!

Christmas 2008

We had a very blessed Christmas. Here's a little peak inside...

We attended Christmas Eve service at church. We got there really early, so, we decided to take some pictures in front of the tree. It was a lovely service... up until the candlelight portion.... then, I have no idea what came out of our pastor's mouth, as I was too worried about all the kids around us lighting the place on fire!

The Kingdom Kidz kids got on stage and sang some songs they'd been working on especially for this night. I couldn't believe Isabella agreed to go up there! I was SO PROUD of her!!! What courage that took! Normally, Ian would have been right up there with all his friends, but he wasn't feeling so well that night. Sydney, Isabella, Dillon, Henry, Rebekah, Jonah and Dawson... and all their friends!

Christmas morning, Isabella awoke to find that eagle she wanted from Santa! Man, was she a happy girl!!And she was ECSTATIC she finally got that StarWars game! Ian got his boat from Target (that Mommy wouldn't buy!)... I guess even Santa shops at Target!I found him a book on ships. He was VERY excited about that! And he could not believe I found him a pirate's chest!

And I just thought these were cute pictures!
Moma and PaPa came over that morning and stayed for dinner. Is this not the best picture you've ever seen??
We're so thankful and relieved that Moma is doing better and getting stronger and will be out of the hospital soon! Thank you, Jesus!! And thank you to all my friends and family who have been keeping her in their prayers!!

This is the bluebird house that Chris helped Ian make with his new REAL tool set! He was very proud! He's such a little craftsman. They went right outside and hung it up.

I sincerely hope that everyone had a jolly and blessed Christmas, and may you all have many blessings in the New Year!!

Christmas at Meme's

I know I'm getting behind again, but here are some pictures from our early Christmas with my aunt in Waco. We had such a good time. I love spending time with my aunt. She's the coolest person I know and always makes everything so special.
My cousin, Jerritt, and his wife, Jackie, were also there with their kids Mia and Zack. Mia, Isabella, and Ian all had such a blast playing together (Ian and Mia are only 5 days apart!)
After the feeding frenzy...
Poor Jerritt.... being pummeled by the rug rats....
Sitting atop their kill.
The kids and Meme made a gingerbread house... it turned out pretty good!

Pre-Christmas Fun

Having fun at the Christmas Parade

When it was time to get our tree, we went to the Christmas Tree Farm ~
where I'm pretty sure we found the ugliest tree ~ there was no good side to it. It's hard to find a tall, skinny real tree. We were running out of time, and the kids found one they liked, so, we went with it. It was basically our Charlie Brown tree!
On the hay ride
Searching, searching...

When we got home, I let the kids decorate it... totally. I didn't go behind them and change everything the way I like it (like I usually do). It was all them. I just figured, how much worse could it get! :) And besides, they did a BEAUTIFUL job!
The finished product...
Ian's preschool Christmas party
Isabella's...
Singing Christmas songs for the parents
Ian dictated his letter to Santa to me. He just kept going and going. I finally had to cut him off. Don't even ask me about the rock and the stick. Chris and I seriously thought about putting one rock and one stick under the tree, just to see Ian's reaction!
And here are some outtakes from our Christmas card pictures (that I didn't get done until the really last minute).
Bighead LOVES Isabella and is obviously trying to nudge Ian out of the picture... what's up with that??
We really wanted Bighead in the picture, but he just wouldn't cooperate, AND he kept blinking...
The winner....
I hope you all had a joyous and blessed Christmas!
